hello fellow gttalk members , i woud like to buy a mf 10 or 12 soon and i would like to know what i should expect to pay for a non running 10 or 12 i know this will most likely very some in different states but i thought i would ask , i know a guy who has a non running 10 gear drive and a 12 hydra speed that he said ran a few years ago , he is asking $250 for the mf 10 with no deck and i think $350 for the 12 which i believe has a deck , just wondering if thats a decent price for either , thanks for any insight on this

If they both have spark, he's a little high, if they don't, he's a little more than a little. Around here, a 10 in decent condition without a deck and running can be bought for 100-200 depending on other things. Last year it bought a 10 with a tiller in "good" condition for $200. I know it was a good deal, but it may help put it in perspective.

I agree he is high. I bought a running MF12hydra for $150 with a working deck. Turn key & mow! I bought a couple more, a non running MF12 for $100-no deck, and a perfect running MF10 gear with deck, sleeve lift, cultivator, and snow blade for $200.

thanks guys for all the help , sorry i don't have any pictures but i can say that the 10 is in no where near as good of shape as poncho62s mf10 accually its sitting in the woods by his shop , i have bought some stuff from him in the past and he seems like he is willing to wheel and deal so i may see if i can get the 10 for maybe $150 or $175 i would like to get it for less but i don't think he will go any lower then 150

update i emailed the owner and got a photo of the mf 10 , he is now asking $200 for it , what do you guys think of it , i think its mostly pine pitch and such from being outside that makes it look so rough , but it has what looks to be unbroken hood trim which is nice

yeah i guess so and i might find more gts over the winter being there no lawns to mow and get a deal , the farthest left 12 is sold and the 12 in the middle is just a parts tractor which i might add is in bad shape , what would be a fair price 150?

$300 for all 3 in the pic..........package deal
i would but the farthest one to the left is supposely sold the owner says a guy left a small deposit and has not came back , but i don't think he would do a deal like that anyway he trys to get top dollar for most stuff

I think $125.00 would be fair $150.00 tops
yeah that sounds fair , i don't quite know if he will go that low but it can't hurt to ask

thanks olcowhand , i think i am going to hang back on buying the 10 for a while , and see what other tractors i can find in the $200 price range and hopefully something that runs especially since i only paid $150 about two years ago for my running 1972 mf 12g with a deck that needed a little work , what would you think my 12 is worth ? heres a photo of my 12 , just curious to see what kind of a deal i got at the time

That's a nice looking tractor for that money. I'd have bought it for that.

I watched all summer for a Ford at a reasonable price. Got mine for $50. I haven't seen a lot of older Massey's for sale around here but there's been one on craigslist for a month (MF 7) for 150 runs with a deck. Either he's too high or demand is that low. If you luck out you'll find somebody short on time or money and get a deal.
