I think the trick is, to be patient....Don't just jump into something just cus you like it. Wait for a deal to come along, they will come. Keep browsing the ads every day.

Another thing I have done is advertise in Freecycle....I have gotten a few freebies that way......mostly junk, but good source of parts

If its been sitting outside, make sure the engine isnt seized before you commit to anything.
