All MF10s came with short tank.
Early MF12s came with long tank.
All tractors with deluxe muffler came with short tank and some had different oil fill dipstick.
I think on the Mf12s when the deluxe muffler came out, the fuel tanks switched to the short one.

Thanks Doug, I knew they didn't all have it, but most of the ones I've seen have it. Of course, I've only seen one good muffler up close.

That means more good news because the $%$#& cut the battery tray also and at least I'll have the original engine if I choose to use it.

I think all the Ross columns use the same splines at the top. I know the bearings are the same.

Now that's a UNIVERSAL steering wheel and probably a one-of-a-kind.

I have a UNIVERSAL steering wheel-shown here on my Case 442- I'd be willing to let it go REAL cheap,
Someone was watching Knight Rider just before they built that. Whew.
Funny thing is, I love mods like that as long as they aren't destructive (sorry it's welded on), it always interesting to me to see how people make do without. I can hear the conversation now...
"I would like to order a new steering wheel for my 442."
"Yes, sir, that'll be $_______"
"I can build my own for less than that!"

I recently owned a HD golf course Toro-groundsmaster- When the Kohler Twin finally blew, I trot fat and happy down to my Kohler Dealer to check on new price for one. 17HP-Special Order to Toro-$3600. My instant reply was , Hell I can drop in a Chevy V8 in it for that !!!!Someone was watching Knight Rider just before they built that. Whew.
