I have a Haban chipper/shredder mdl. 500 that needs a new knife.

My friend bought a new chipper, 16 horse I think and does a lot of chipping. He complained that the knives dulled fast and replacement knives were exorbitantly priced. I went to my iron pile and found an old leaf spring a little thicker than the original knives. Pushed the curve out of it with my hydraulic press and cut appropriate sized chunks with a 4'" grinder and cutoff wheel. Sent him home to drill holes and sharpen them. He has been very happy with them.

My Troy Built chipper shredder has several flat edged knives.  Get rounded of and looses capacity fast.  Have turned them over once already, next time will use a flap wheel to put a square edge back on them again.  Usually run the 1.25"  screen for mulch.

I wasn't able to post a photo, however it's a single bevel blade that measures 3 3/8' x 1 7/16' There are two 5/16" mounting bolts that are centered 1 7/8" apart. The bolt heads are countersunk. A double bevel blade might work if the blade length and bolt holes are right.

I checked out the web site given and the Aztec blades look similar, but dimensions aren't given.
