931034 GT 20hp Lawn Tractor

The tractor is with the repair shop

The threads on the bottom fitting where the 4 hoses attach were bunged up enough that it leaked at the connections

Have solved that I think now need a gasket kit or suggestions for alternate for the bottom of the steering column

Is the steering column universal to all ariens gts or very from year to year

Thanks for the help

I haven't looked at the ps on the gt19 in a few years, is the fitting that is screwed up removable or is it the threads in the housing?
I have heard that ps unit was the same as what deere put onto their 318 and maybe others, might open possibilities as to where to find them

you can send them in to get refurb.  Cost a few hundred bucks depends what they find wrong.

I have an Ariens shop manual that has a section on teardown of one of those units...

where would somebody send one of those units in if it were needed?

I bring up the JD 318, the reason I know they used same unit is that I know someone that had to overhaul theirs..... I wasn't there for the carnage, though.

Dodge Trucker and Runagun

Thank you for your response

There are 4 male threaded nubs at the bottom of the steering column

They seam to be pressed into the bottom plate which is held to the column with 4 bolts

There is a bleeder screw into one of the nubs

I would be interested in any information on where to get it rebuilt

I searched some columns on line for other tractor types but the ones that came up had 5 bungs

I will look into the JD318

Gravely used the same part number column but they also stopped manufacturing it

can you either;

take that bottom plate off and have it tapped out for other fittings that would mate up with the hoses on the other side?

Find someplace that services these/sells parts and just buy that bottom plate with any associated gasket(s) /O-rings/seals?

Im not sure what would be under that plate, never been into one of those units.
