I've recently picked up a John Deere GT245. A little searching shows that it is a 2002 based off of the serial # M0G245B060196. The transmission seems to be a Tuff Torq K71. I have read that there are multiple versions of the K71 (A, B, C) and I'm wondering how to figure what mine is, and what that means exactly.

What got me into all off this searching is the varied talk about this tractor having a differential lock. Some say it does while other argue it does not. Now I am curious and would love to know how I can find out. Thanks!

Should be 2 tags on the back of the transaxle. 1 on each side of the axle tube near axles if there still there.

Both tags are missing. On the lower case I do see "K71 1A6370-24161" and "1A6370-24111" on the upper. I'm not getting any good search results on either of those numbers though. Do either of those numbers help to answer if this K71 has a locking differential?
