Just thought I would mention that anyone using Windows 10 and Microsoft Edge will probably experience an update that results in what Microsoft claims is an improved upgrade to Microsoft Edge if they haven't already.

Not sure what to think of it so far - sure looks a lot like a clone of Google Chrome - will see how it goes.

I'm getting really tired of these automatic updates. Somehow the last time I got an 'upgrade' it started popping up information boxes at the most inconvenient times. What ever happened to the freedom of choice?

I'm not interested much MS browsers either but find it interesting that they don't support 7 anymore but come with an update installing Edge for 7 before it would not work with 7, I keep reading all the problems they are having with 10 and its updates who knows

I like it as it has the ability to block PUA/PUP that I was having to run AdwCleaner to remove.  I now run a secure DNS using QUAD9, 9.9.9.9 one of IBM's starts.  To do this go turn on under APPS to block this stuff and plug in 9.9.9.9 for your DNS.  But you need to be running Win10 2004.

There are new features in the new Microsoft Edge to where Edge can block PUP/PUA that get left on your PC from browsing.  This is trash that the bads hope they can turn into code they can use on your PC.   With older versions of Windows you had to an Adwcleaner to remove otherwise they set on your PC waiting for the bad guys to make into bad code on your PC.  You need to run Windows 10 2004 to be able to use this feature.  You turn it on under security setting.  I have included pictures of where you turn this on.

I too got MS Edge pop up on the screen and cannot get rid of it short of reboot.  Not listed as a program so cannot uninstall.  So how do you go about getting rid of it permanently, in English please and not computer lingo.?

I have Malewarebytes and use it for years.  Runs automatically and gets rid of the PUP and other junk files.  MS controls way to much as it is.  Don't need another browser to learn and have MS update and keep it screwed up all the time.

I have all the auto updates turned off and it downloaded ms edge and told me to restart the computer, it automatically made edge my default browser along with putting a scype icon on my task bar. I'm not sure why this was installed with all updates turned off.

I haven't looked at edge yet I closed the popups and the edge browser and put all my default programs to FireFox, VLC video player and Ifranview for photos.

I am considering ditching microsoft and using android and ios for my future computing needs unless anyone has anything positive to post about this upgrade.  In my case i was happy with everything the way it was working and see no need to change.
