I have a 2015 Troy Bilt Super Bronco that I use to mow about 1+ acre. The area has many trees, garden/flower beds, etc. The steering, especially at slow speeds, is difficult to turn. Has anyone developed a poor man's power steering or lower drag for turning?

I once read about using roller bearings instead of bushings but I lost that info & don't know if would even work.

Do you regularly grease the steering components? If not, that may be a good place to start.

I’ve seen Torrington bearing kits to replace the lower washer for some machines. Picture a thin needle bearing disc, with the needles radially placed - like sunbeams in a kids drawing, sandwiched between two thin hardened washers.

Measure your spindle diameter that goes through the front axle, 5/8” is common, so is 3/4”.

Found this on amazon if you search.... TC1018 Thrust Needle Roller Bearing 5/8 x 1 1/8 x 5/64 inch Thrust Bearings

I use McMaster Carr Thrust bearings on all my tractors with two .032 washers. It does help some but smooth front tires help the most.
