Anyone "ever"seen a Briggs opposed twin with sheared key

I have a 18 hp Briggs opposed twin that has great compression ,new coil,and rebuilt carb but will not start.paid 75 for the tractor.guy said it just quit.seems out if time.will not even hit on carb cleaner.anyone seen a sheared key on these motors?

When in doubt go through the troubleshooting sequence in the B&S manual. Then pull the flywheel and replace the key. Clean everything while you are in there. I often find a mouse nest. Good Luck, Rick

Got Spark?

 

With the magnetron ignition you would have spark regardless if the key is sheared. It would just affect the timing.

I've never seen a opposed twin with a sheared key.seems like it would be a pain to take the flywheel off
