the problem is, I bought this old tractor, it came with a push blade and a tiller, the tines are on there as if the tiller should run backwards and it seems that is how it should be, it really pushes the tractor when I try to use it, and since the tines are on wrong, it tries to cut with the dull side of the tines,, is there a way to reverse the way the tines rotate, I've watched some on youtube and they run backwards to the way the tractor is moving. Has anyone got any advice or as to maybe what's wrong. Thanks.

You may have to remove the tines and turn them around unless you can take them off the shaft and swap ends.

The Tube frame bolens tillers turn forward. They do push the tractor around in hard or sticky clay soil. Adjust the holding foot on the tiller to it's lowest position. It not only helps to hold the tractor back it will also pull the tiller down into the soil a bit.  And put a set of tire chains on the tractor. Wheel Weights help alot.

Go slow when tilling. I used Lo range 1st and 2nd gear when I tilled with my old 1050.

Which tiller do you have? Round back or Square back? Is the a model number tag still on the tiller?

Can you please post a few pictures of the tractor and tiller so that we can see what your dealing with so that we can help you set it up correctly?

Thanks Eric.  I never could figure out how to do that.  Hard to teach an old dog new tricks, but I will try.
