What engine powers your garden/lawn tractor? Mine is powered by an 8 horsepower Briggs and Stratton flathead...

2-10 (JD 110, 210), 2-12 (JD 112, 212), 2-14 (JD 214, 314),  2-16 (JD 216, 316) and 1-20.5 (JD 420) hp Kohlers!

This is my current list, but it may be subject to change at any given time. It could of course get longer, never shorter. :smilewink:

 

1 - Kohler K91 4hp

2 - Kohler K161's 7hp

1 - Kohler K181 8hp

2 - Kohler K241's 10hp

2 - Kohler K301's 12hp

2 - Kohler K321's 14hp

1 - Onan  P220 20hp

1 - Hatz  1B40 10hp diesel

I have a few different breeds, but I'm a big fan of Kohlers, especially the KT II.
I like the lower rpm's of these older ones.

3 - Kohler KT's series I & II both 17hp & 16hp
1 - Kohler 22hp
1 - Briggs 11hp
1 - Onan P220 20hp (not running looking for ignition module)
1 - Briggs 8hp
1 - Briggs vtwin 14hp

I think that it. Just like Achto says it could change at anytime.

That's enough to keep up maintenance on for now. All very good motors.

I'll keep mine kind of short to the ones that run right now or will run with a battery otherwise the list will be huge.

I am partial to the Kohler "K" engines, good power and easy to work on. Also have tractors with Kohler vertical shaft and a couple of B&Ss and Tecumseh

Wagner Little Giant 8hp cast briggs. All original.

CC 1440 freshly rebuilt 16hp briggs vanguard. Originally had a tired 14hp vanguard with over 2600 hours on it. Ran but smoked and rattled pretty bad. 

CC 1541 18hp Kohler Magnum currently has 2400 hours on it but it's still running smooth and strong.

 

Sold my other GTs. Not enough storage.

My 140 has a K241, which will eventually be bored out to a K301.

My 317 has a magnum 18.

My Snapper YT18 has a Magnum 14.

My Burns is currently engine-less, but it's getting an 8 horse briggs.
