Ok folks, I need some help here. I've been given the oppoirtunity to purchase a Big 10 from an older gentleman that bought it brand new and it's in excellent mechanical condition. The only piece he doesn't have is the snowblower. He said it was junk! lol I'm attaching pictures of everything and would like your help in figuring out a price. He wants $4,000 and I think that's too much. Any and all help is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!!!!

sounds like he wants more than he payed for it after using it for 50+ years. i don't know the prices on simplicty or allis but that price is pretty steep to me. the tractor is clean but looks like the carb might be leaking a little and i bet there is a pile of hours on that machine. doesn't look neglected or left outside.

Yes, he has kept it garaged when he doesn't use it. I was thinking more along the lines of $2,500 tops.

Seems steep to me also but but what he paid for all that in 1965 would likely have bought him 3/4 of a nice pickup truck. Don

I do not know your situation nor what your goals are. The B10 series were excellent garden tractors but they are not the only ones. If you want a good GT you have many choices. Let us know what you are looking for and you should be able to have a good GT with some attachments for under $1000. BTW check out our Manuals Section(3 free downloads per day). Good Luck, Rick

If he had $2000 in everything it would surprise me. I 1968 I bought a new Simplicity 2110 with hydro lift, tiller and tine extension, deck, and cultivators and only paid $1300. It seems around my area they are wanting more than I think they are worth.

Welcome to GTT. I have three ACs from the series. An early B10 with the 23D engine and hydraulic lift. The engine was blown and the seat was missing. I paid $85 for it. I have a Big Ten with the 243341 engine not running came with mower deck, leaf vacuum and the trailer with the bag system. I paid $150 for it. It took a new gas tank and rebuilding the carb to get it running. The third one is a late B10 with the 243341 engine. It wasn't running but was in very good shape. A carb kit and a couple of hours had it running. I paid $50 for it. I have picked up many attachments for $50 to $100 a piece. There are about 40 attachments for the B10s.I think that the price is ridiculous. The market for old GTs seems to have gone soft and I suspect that it is because most people can't do the work themselves.

I wouldn't give more than $1500 for it only because it does have hydraulic lift and a couple decent attachments. The Bevel gear box behind the drive shaft will most likely need rebuilt. Years and years of Pulling a plow will have caused the gears to wear quite a bit. The gears are around $300 for the set.
If it had the Tiller and Tiller drive I would possibly go as high as 2k if I was looking for that specific machine.

I'd say the tractor is worth ~ $1000 and an average of $250 for each attachment.

Very nice package & looks well kept & original. Don't know if you plan on using it or fixing for show but either way the price is way out of line I would say, even in VA!
I have a complete HB112 I bought a few years ago at auction for $300, although it still is as bought, a future project!

Headlights and headlight bar (front) if they’re guide light housing & bulbs add $150
The rear light isn’t original - BUT if there’s an original rear light bracket $75-$100
Wheel weights $125
Chains $30
Deck $50
Disk $50-$75
Snow Blade $75-$100
Moldboard Plow $125
Spring Harrow $100
V plow $50-75
Each attachment can vary between $50-$100 depending on condition/paint originality, etc.
That’s a nicer one that I’ve seen. If it’s original paint maybe $700 for the tractor alone.

Snow Blade $75-$100
That's very low. I just sold a 46" blade, like the one shown, for $340 a month ago.

Michigan, I can’t seem to sell them for over $100. But, there’s an abundance of them here it seems.
