Decided to rebuild my little HH120, this block was in great shape but had a bad knock so I retired it until I could find the time to tear into it. Piston was in great shape had the typical wear, but the wrist pin was wallowing around in the piston. I got the new rod and piston already just waiting on the gaskets and seals to get here.
Since being on this forum I have learned about "original survivors" and also have seen some really nice ones painted up. My wife and I choose to stick with the original survivor with Lucy because we both love it the way it is.
Unfortunately the engine a choose to rebuild the P.O. had repainted it and was orange and brown so I could not allow that to stay.
I read somewhere on here that Pontiac blue was a good match or close to so I got a can of Pontiac blue engine paint and this is what we got.
Wow huh....Man I am so tempted to just keep going with that but No we will keep her original after all this is our go to tractor winter and summer and our main concern is the mechanic ability.
Engine will be a breeze, but I need to get a new cylinder head and new electronics because lucys engine will live on.
To really add to my work load and to clear my conscience I dug out the oldest ugliest tractor I got in the pile of parts I bought. This one was originally used for parts to get lucy going so it will need quite a few missing pieces, spent quite a bit of time so far on this thing cleaning it and extracting broken bolts.
This will be our next hydro tractor
