[HANKG]

This year I expanded my weed less garden in size and hopefully in production. here's the line up.

 

Sweet potato

corn

string bean

carrot

cucumber

yellow squash

white egg plant

zucchini

onion two hundred fifty six plants

cabbage

two variety tomato

watermelon

edamame

red and green bell peper

strawberry's

parsley

sage

oregano

rosemary

lavender

basil

thyme

Awesome looking garden with more then 3x the variety of what I plant

We don't plant near that much as we don't use it.  We plant what we can eat or store for the winter.  Will be putting in more Onions, Radish and Squash later today.  Looks to me like it is more work to get that plastic down, weighted, etc. and then all removed and store in the fall then the weeding would be.  I use my GT with cultivator and hand tools to keep weeds down in mine. .Of course Preen is the big weed preventative.  As much wind as we have that plastic would not be there long.  Neighbor got a machine for his tractor to roll out the plastic, etc.  Only lasted a year and he quit that.  We have several hundred wind generators in Iowa for a reason.

Hank , that's a lot of plants in that little space. That'll be plenty of veggies for sure. When then plants get bigger, the weeds won't have any place to grow . I like the black plastic, that works well on something that size.

Looks nice, that's a LOTTA plants!  That plastic, here, would last maybe 2, 3 hours before it left the state.
