My trusty MF12G finally needs some more major work. Its smoking like a chimney, and uses oil like a seive. I went to change it today since its been a few months, but hadnt been smoking in a few weeks. So out comes the plug and a light trickle of jet black oil dribbles out. So i drain it out and fill with fresh 10w-40. Then fire it up, and presto, blue smoke. So then i drive it around and it smokes more under load, and continuously when it runs.

So now i think i'll rebuild it. I was having my little brother do the motor in the other tractor so we will order 2 kits and i'll do mine at the same time.

I would really like to know where you get your kits from.

If its smoking that bad I dont think you will be able to use those aftermarket kits, they only come in standard size

I'm thinking about getting the kits from Pats small engine, and then getting an oversize piston and rings off ebay.

Yes Pats is a good place the most selection, good prices but for me they don't ship to Canada.

Yeah sometimes you find some good deals on non standard NOS parts. I know I got a HH120 30 over piston for like 20 and the rings for another 15. But Pats has the goods if you need them

Got a engine kit and some LME carb kits off Ebay.
Napa has a part# for rods in the US so I can get them here too.
