Well gents, The wife and I are in the midst of yet another road trip.  :D :D :D

I left earlier today for Suburban 12's home in MacDonald PA.  I was doing a 'heads up" trade.  My 10" Brinly sleeve hitch plow for his 12" 3-pt plow.  I's only three hrs. from my house, but remembering the trip last summer to pickup the dethatcher when we broke down in "The middle of 'Nowhere, PA", the wife said, let's take the cat, just in case.  That turned out to be a good move.

We got there around 3:00 and I got to take a look at Suburban 12's "senior project" Sears.  The young lad has done a splendid job on it.

After we got loaded up and on the way back, the wife said that she could hear Cracker Barrel's chicken livers 'calling her name'.  Using Streets & Trips, I found a Cracker Barrel almost directly on the way home, so the course was set and, off we went.

Now a bit of back story.  The wife doesn't get around real well, and the steps of the new motorhome have a lot more rise to them than the old one, plus there are more of them.  That makes getting in and out of it quire a chore for her, so we started looking for solutions.

On eBay, she found a lift that is designed specifically for motorhomes.  However it had a BIN price of 1,999.00 and she thought that was a bit much.  It had been there for awhile, and she said that she was going to wait until the listing expired, and then contact the seller and see if he would take 1,500.00.

I told her to just send him a message offering him 1,250.00 and see what he says. Now, that happened last night.  This morning, just before we left for PA, he responded saying that they had to have at least 1,500.00 and included his phone number so she could call him.

So while we were sitting in the Cracker Barrel parking lot, she called and talked to him. He lowered the BIN while he was on the phone with him, bought it, paid for it, and we are now off to Wisconsin :D :D :D

But, Ladies and Gentlemen, and Children of all ages...there is yet more to this tale.

About 3 weeks ago, a fella over on 'the other forum' posted that he had a "Dual wheel kit" for the Bolens large frames for sale.  He and I struck a deal, and it was a now matter of figuring out how to ship them to me from...yep...WISCONSIN.

So, the one day road trip to swap plows, has now been extended to include a run to WI to pick up the lift and the dual wheel kit.

As I type we are sitting in a Wally World parking lot, and will be heading West and North in the morning.

No pics right now, but we will be swinging past the house tomorrow, and I'll pick up the camera.  Pics will be forthcoming as the trip progresses.

There is also the tale of "Einstein the FedEx driver" to tell as well.  If I told it now, I'd most likely be using language that would get me banned on all forums on 9 planets.  Suffice it to say that I have searched for, and found, the email address of the CEO of FedEx, and he will be getting an email concerning "Einstein".

Well, it's late and I have a 7+ Hr. drive tomorrow.  More at another time.

Rolling stone gathers no moss, but apparently other goodies instead.?  No mention of weather conditions yet extending the trip leaves plenty of opportunity.

Safe and Happy trails OB!

OB, I made something for you, it's a post-it note for you to print and put by the front door of the motor home.

I was going to include the link to the Lift, but it was late last night, and I was still a bit 'agitated' from the encounter with "Einstein the FedEx driver".

Any way, here the link.  Pretty slick goodie :D :D :D

Drive slow, Wisconsin has some issues right now. A foot and a half of snow in the west, flooding in the east.........bring sunshine.

Neat story. Happy motoring to you both. I didn't think there was anyone else that liked the chicken livers from Cracker Barrel but me. Enjoy the ride and stay safe. Looking forward to the pictures and The Einstein story.

You are getting close to where I live... I noticed that the ebay sellers name made reference to Parker Pens.. They have a neat museum complex in the area that you are going to.

Good luck on your travels.. Everytime I see your screen name come up the song... Down the Road Again starts going thru my mind..

Don't know about that lift OB. I mean just because she has trouble with the steps is that any reason to make her ride in a little metal chair outside the motorhome?
