Why is the nickname "rubber cow"? I miss my BMW 650 dakar.. was a fun bike....

They were called Gummikuh, because in former times BMW stands for solidness, old fashioned, slowlyness and so on. You can start driving in the fourth gear, the engine is very elastic... all characteristics of a brave cow will.
Motocycles got better, but the nickname didn't change.
