found out today that my welding teacher died in a roll over today. had our class like normal last night told us what we were gonna do in mondays class and that was it. my better half told me there was a truck rolled over in the ditch its roof on her way home. a fellow class mate sent me a text an said or teacher was dead. im still in shock im sure itll sink in and hit me tomorrow.

Vent if you need too. Talk if you need too. Was this teacher close to you? Do something special to honor their memory. Perhaps weld something that will mean something to you.

well i first met him when i went to college the first time 04-06 i didnt have him as a teacher then but he saw what i was doing an gave me a few tips when ever he was in a checking on my progress fast forward to this semester begining in the end of jan this year the few things i made in class he was always giving tips on easier ways to do things or make things work easier like the mug that i finished last night. he gave me an the fellow student that i was working with better ways to do what we wanted to do. (ill post a pic of the mug at the end) i was walking around last night after i was done watching him as he was welding various things just showing a few of us what he could do, He had been welding for 40+yrs. the trick i was looking forward to on monday was him using the tig to weld 2 razor blades together and look like they were made that way. today we lost a very talented man   R.I.P. Mike Duell

Sorry to hear of the loss, Welding and fabrication is close to my heart.... Great instructors are hard to come by,ones who forge ahead to teach and inspire us....It is apparent that he had influenced your life. I found out a few weeks ago that my welding instructor has Alzheimer disease. He is to the point at which the family has put him in a personal care facility. They believe that the metal fumes (galvanized metal ) had a part in it. From one rod burner to another,I feel your pain. Please If you need advice in your studys, PM me.

It's hard news and it really hurts when it's a friend like that Don't be afraid to talk cause it does help.
