This past year at the Fawn Grove Olde Tyme Days show I got to meet Dan Kehr. Dan and his father build custom garden tractors in ½ scale replicating the larger farm tractors. The new tractor that they built this year is a Minneapolis Molines G706.

Dan said they still have a few more things to add like an umbrella and this is his first one that they built a custom frame for. So far they have 530 hours in to the build. It is powered by a 16hp Briggs & Stratton engine. ...

When I found this Massey it had no engine or wheels on it. I figured I wasn't hurting anything by customizing it. I use 6.70x15 ag tires mounted on Dodge caravan spare tire rims for the back tires. The Dodge rims have the right 5 on 4 1/2 bolt pattern. I used 4.00x6 tri ribs for the fronts. It scales out pretty well and makes a neat conversation piece at tractor shows. Of my custom built tractors this is my favorite. Hope you like it.

This is the second narrow front tractor I built. I used 15 inch Dodge caravan spare tire rims with 6.70x15 ag tires on them. This raises the tractor enough that you can put the narrow front on them and still have the tractor sit level. The B-10 has a heavy plate bolted under the engine to help support the frame and front end so I used one of these plates to weld my narrow front end to. ...

When I bought my 1655 10 yrs ago the person who had it before hand had cut the blades shorter so that they wouldn't hit each other. The original cogged pulleys had been changed to 4" cast sheaves and he had put v belts to drive the spindles. Well there was noway it would cut grass like that so rather then pay dearly for pulleys and belts, I decided to modify the deck.

This is around a 1972 Bush Hog JBI. It started life with a 14hp Briggs, but OE engine was gone and I decided to boost the power just a tad. Here she is as I bought her, w/12hp Briggs installed. I also altered/added a few other items. It could come equipped with optional rear power-take-off, but unfortunately, this one has none. 3 point lift was standard. I got the belly mower deck, but opted not to use it, as it is rusted through very bad, ...

My MF8 is going to become one of my next projects. While I purchased it towards the end of summer 2009 it is one of my favorite machines to mow with. The turning radius is unbelievable and the hydro makes it sweet.
