GTtalk's 2nd Annual Ugly Tractor of the Month of November 2011!
Nov 01, 2011 10:44 PM | MH81 in Featured Tractors
Congratulations to Alan(MH81) for winning one of our favorite tractor of the month themes which is "Ugly Tractor of the Month". Member wvbuzzmaster nominated Alan's Massey MF12H. Here is Alan's description of the tractor.I bought this tractor from Casey this spring at the FCVAEC Plow Day. It took 6 guys, one tractor and a lot of headshaking with laughter to get this thing off Casey's trailer and onto mine. If I'd have known how little it would take to drive it, I would've saved everyone a lot of trouble.
To date I have done very little to this. I added Gas, checked fluids, pumped up the tires and turned the still working key. Motor sounds good, tranny works, (the Hydro Handle mechanism could use a little adjustment tho). I had a lot of fun today taking the video of it moving on it's own power with the ghost driver, and want to thank Casey for selling it to me. If nothing else, it was money well spent to have the fun!
Here it is today.
And here it is in motion
Great job saving:wave::tractor_rocks:
Great job Alan, mabey I can get the grill to you for an update picture before LAGC needs pics. I am getting a big box here soon LOL
you had what I thought was some strong competition this month, but hands down you got yourself a winner!!
Congrats on your landslide victory! That's a great save from the scrap heap! Thanks to Casey for the good eye and to you for giving it a good home where it will be loved no matter how ugly it is LOL!!
I just hope Alan has straightened out Ryan's depth perception issue LOL
Thanks Guys, I think Ryan has a new appreciation of this tractor and what "Inner Beauty" means LOL
This event may just help Ryan in a few years... when you allow him to date lol
Alan, congratulations on your win,it couldn't have happened to an UGLIER tractor.:D
Allen , when I first saw your tractor I thought if I ever brought that home my wife wouldn't even let me take it off the truck ! That's when I voted for you , Al
Now that's funny.:bigrofl:
What more can one say.
Congrats Allen
Congratulations - I thought it was a lock all along. Do you get a trophy or perhaps an engraved plaque to screw to the hood?---LeeB:beerchug:
Yeah, they come with pre-rusted screws and duct tape so you have options... :bigrofl:
You had better call in Red Green for a consultation on that one. Congratulations !
Congrats Alan! An ugly tractor indeed!
Congratulation Alan good stuff
Congrats to you:thumbs:. An exceptionally ugly tractor indeed:smile1:
Congrats, Alan. A very deserving tractor. You can use 'Ol Ugly' for it's name if you want, I won't mind a bit! That thing is really ugly!
Congrats, Alan!
that is a sad little tractor
:worshippy2: but good job getting it running again

I'll have to agree, that is a sad looking tractor. It looks like it's so sad it's running away. Congratulations and give her some lovin with a restore
Congratulations Alan. It sure is great to see the tractor up and running
I dont know what made me laugh, the ghost rider video or the steering wheel that is anything but straight!
Great to see another one saved from the people that just dont care.
Alan, I think its great to have people like yourself that will show off the tractors when thay are still needing TLC.
Can't wait to see you mowing the lawn with the steering wheel that way!:bigrofl:

I thought that the steering wheel was the best thing on that tractor, I can't stand the styling of stock steering wheels. LOL

I'm a little more concerned about the seat pan, but yeah, the steering wheel does make it interesting.
I think it was Maynard who referred to it as "ergonometric". :rofl2:

This is one of the best tractor posts I've seen in a long time. Congratulations on salvaging that old Massey. I love the video, and the "as found" photos. She's ugly, but somebody has to love he
