Love the site! Very informative. I have a Gilson with a brand new starter and chewed up pinion gear. I guess I was so excited about getting a new starter and didn't bother check the alignment (idiot moment). I was wondering if anyone would could use copies of my tractor and implement manuals?

:welcome:

There is a "Manuals" tab at the top of the page. The more, the merrier I always say. Upload what you have if you can. Never know when I might run across a Gilson that I can't live without!

Another newby here. First post in fact. I just bought an early 70's Montgomery Wards Hydrostatic 16. Got it home and did a quick test mow. Worked fine. A week later when I finally got back to it, it started right up. I lowered the deck and saw foamy hydraulic fluid squirting out from under somewhere. A hose had come off. It hasn't been a good experience from there on.
The motor is great. Starts easy and runs strong.
The hydrostatic transmission has been iffy. I have added fluid to the tranny through the plug hole on the case on the right rear side. I also removed the plug on the T in front of the axel and also on the right side.
It will go for a bit and then lose power. Sometimes if I activate the deck hydraulics it will go some more for a bit.
Well I replaced the hose clamp on the hose that poped and refilled the tranny and it ran for a bit and quit. So Here I am in search of info. Sadly I didn't see the manual for my tractor. Sigh. Any and all sugestions will be considered.

 Shandon And Rembrant Welcome to the forum! We're glad that you've both found us here! We hope that you enjoy the forum and we love pics!

Shandon, I've not seen many Gilson tractors before and It's great that you want to share the manuals with those, who I'm sure, have looked high and low for them!

Rembrant, Those Monkey Wards machines are really cool! Unfortunately the manuals seem to be hard to find. I hope that someone comes along soon who can either share one with you, or answer your questions from experience! Meanwhile, enjoy the forum and the camaraderie and post some pics when you can.
