That would be a good idea if someone was used to a joystick, say at work. Not sure if I would go to the extra expense, though. Would be nice to see one put together.

I like the single joystick control valves. I want to swap out the loader valve on my 1655 for two reasons. One because it is shot and two because I like the single. The one valve I was looking at was around $200 and the linkage is all contained inside the valve in some way.

I guess if my valve was bad getting one with the joystick already on would be the way to go . I have some heim ends that I could use to keep the cost very cheap ( which is like me ) Al

I think it is a cool project. With the heim joints and using threaded rod then you can make the linkages adjustable for any corrections.

I would think that a valve assembly like this would be a great fit for your application:
Surplus Center - 2 SPOOL COMPACT 10 GPM JOYSTICK CONTROL VALVE 10 gpm at 3000 psi for $230.

If you go to that page in their catalog they also have a 25 gpm valve assembly for $300.

That doesn't seem like too bad of a price . but thanks for psoting it because it had a parts break down of what the linkage looks like it doesn't look like it would be hard to make something like that work on my valve , Al joystick controller1.jpg

One thing I see is the extra tab on this valve:Hydvalve.jpg
That helps hold the handle in the right position.

Yea Kenny , that's the parts that will tough . Maybe a steel plate under the valve with an angle coming up so I would have a spot to mount that tab to ?

That sounds like a plan. Not having parts in hand, I'm kind of 'off the wall' here. Been quite some time since I have actually seen a valve like that. Challenge is how far away from spool and how 'tall' would the tab be to work correctly. Might be easier to buy the kit, clone the parts, and return the kit.

as long as all the pivot points are equal it should work fine . I have seen this done with a u-joint for a pivot as well, there are many different ways to do it, just spend some quality time researching and studying your application and it will come to you .

Al, your valve looks like the 2-spool Gresen valve I repaired this summer which was controlled by a joystick. ....It is on an IH loader.

I don't have pics, and I live 20 miles away from the tractor. ....The tractor is in the Clinton, NJ, area if you'd like to see it and take measurements & pics. .....I think you live in the Bangor area?

Send me a PM if you're interested.
