Wow! You did do a number, You'll have fun at the air port if they don't take all that hardware out. I know it is no fun right now dealing with the injuries and the shorter days but if there is a good side to all this, at least hopefully you will be healed by the time spring comes around again and you'll be back out in your shop working on that Simplicity. As you said just take one day at a time and before you know it all this will just be a memory.

I sure hope you can type one handed better then I could! Keep us informed on your progress.

Well there's one more reason for me to steer clear of airports
I'm not a fan of flying, and my ride on the little bird to Nashville reaffirmed that for me. Granted they saved my life, it was still scary as heck :blush2:

Went back to the hand & arm specialist today...Got All good news!
First off, I got all the pins removed from my wrist & fingers...I also got out of the cast & into a removable arm splint. Now here's the really good part:
Looks like I will Not need more surgery on my hand, and I might get a greater range of motion from my arm than they first expected!

Good for you.Take it from someone who was in your place 40 years ago. Do exactly as the physical therapist tells you but take time to rest. These things have a way of coming back to haunt you when you get older. If you follow your doctors orders you won't regret it later.
Good luck with the rest of your recovery.

Great news! I'm sure getting rid of the cast was very happy news in itself. Glad you are on the mend!

Sorry to hear about your accident. Had a MC crash myself about 30+ years ago. Not as bad as yours though. It's nice to hear you got good news from the docs. Thats something positive to build on over the rest of your recovery. Now's a good time to learn about other tractor brands by going through old threads on here. It can keep me amused for hours. Take care and keep us informed about your recovery.

It is always good news when you are making progress. I know it is no fun not being able to do things but in time this will all be a memory. Keep us informed of your progress.

Great news Dan! Sounds like you'll be fit as a fiddle for the LAGT thing in Evansville come June! Can't beat news like you got, but like Chris said, do what they say! The younger you are, the faster/better the results, so that's on your side.

Best of luck to you on your recovery. You didn't lose it at Deal's Gap did you? I've been there twice myself and look forward to the next time. I'm knocking on wood that my several accidents on dirt as a kid paid my dues to the crash gods and that they'll let me be on the street. Time will tell.

But you live in beautiful country there and I hope you get a full recovery and do decide to get back on a bike someday.

Thank you guys. I've been following the doctor's orders right along, and they were impressed with the progress I've made. I think I will keep listening to them
Getting the cast off alone was a tiny Godsend, that thing was driving me nuts! Now I can take the splints off and scrub my arm. No more shrink-wrapping my arm before a shower :D

I sure hope by then this is all a memory, because I have every intention of being there. Not sure if I'll be taking anything, but we'll see

No this was here in middle TN on a back road. Some of our county roads would make you think you're on the Tail of the Dragon. This sure is a beautiful part of the world!

Not due to an accident, I spent about 8 weeks off work due to a bum ticker several years ago. The main thing is to keep your mind busy.
Daytime TV sucks! Reading, jigsaw puzzles, whatever it takes to keep you from feeling sorry for yourself. Keep several things going so when one bores you you can move to the next. Keep a positive attitude.
Glad to hear your on the mend, When you get down we are here to prop you up.
