I toasted my electric clutch on the rear pto. Would anyone know if they can be rebuilt or is it best to throw it on the junk pile? The price of a new one is too much for how much I will use it.:anyone:

The clutch comes out of my Ariens. The coil overheated when a bolt came loose and slid over locking up the unit. I just got it opened up tonite and the wiring is all messed up melted together and torn up.

I have a Ariens s16 model 931010. The clutch I believe is from a bigger model. Possibly the 17 or 18 hp . According to parts manual looks like model 931026 rear pto. I also was thinking of checking out the live shaft option that Ariens had back then.

Its back together again, slightly different. I tore the clutch off and used the shaft to make a live pto. The tiller has a belt tensioner release for a clutch. All I need now is a guard for when I dont have the tiller mounted.
