Just to throw out to you guys what the deal was on the table. It's a model 1000 Quietline series Cub Cadet with a 44 inch mower deck and rear ag tires in half decent shape and it runs good. The number thrown out by him was $300.



Now if that would have been an 800.........HUMM

Probably a good idea to walk away...

1000 Quietline series Cub Cadet with a 44 inch mower deck
and rear ag tires in half decent shape, runs good......................................- $300

Fines, Court Costs, Laywers bill: receiving Stolen Property defense.......- $4000

I know I'm late to the thread but here's what I see-

1) If you didn't have an ethics/morals issue with this deal you would have just bought it and let the chips fall where they may.

2) Allot has been posted about property rights and the hassle of what could happen if it boomerangs on you, but the truth is it come down to doing the right thing.

I think you made a wise choice walking away, tractors come and go but a bad conscience or court judgment will stick with you for quite awhile.
