I have a Kohler MV18S on my Craftsman GT6000 that uses Kohler oil filter 5205002. I've researched other brands of filters, including Wix 51348, Fram PH7575, and Fram 3614.

Without going out to the shed and looking, I don't remember if I currently have an OEM Kohler filter installed now or a Wix (It's not Fram because I know it's not orange).

I'll be changing the oil soon for winter along with a new filter. The Kohler filters are pretty expensive. Does anyone know if they are any better than the other brands, or is it a case of double-the-price simply because Kohler's name is on it? Suggestions?

I would stay away from the Fram filters they are some of the cheapest filter made. Wix is a good filter, so is NAPA.

Thanks. I'll probably stick with Wix/Napa.
