I am going to buy a smartphone. I am either going to buy a Android based or Apple based phone. I bought my wife a Windows base phone last year and wished I had never done that, it's terrible.

Which way would you go?

This is the first poll I have done. Hope it works right. Thanks for voting..

Brian

My son really likes the apple phone. I have an Ipod touch and really like it's abilities. I will definitely be getting the Iphone next when my contract is up. Good luck.

I believe the only downfall to the Apple product is the inability to watch Flash based content online. My Ipad is Flash incompatible and it is frustrating at times.

Everyone that I know who has an Android unit seems satisfied.

I am of no help at all either. I have a "dumb phone", and it has a dumb owner when it comes to phones. I'll stick with one I can actually use a few of it's small capabilities......like making a phone call of all things! LOL

I have an Android phone and don't like it. I have an iPad 2 and just love it. I would have an iPhone, but the only cellular service that works best here doesn't carry it. When Verizon moves into the area I will switch.

I also have an iMac and love it as well. ANYTHING that runs Windows is junk, I dumped them in 2004.

I only have a dumb phone that is provided by my employer. But I really like my iPod Touch. I'm seriously thinking of getting an iPhone at some point. The one thing I don't like though on the iPod and I assume the phone is the same way is not having a user replaceable battery.

(I posted this from my iPod using Tapatalk.)

My wife and I both have Android based phones and we are very happy with them. I have several co-workers who have the Apple units and they are happy with them as well. As MH81 mentioned above, the Apple I-phones aren't capable of using Flash based images and content due to a software war that Steve Jobs refused to give in on.

DROID , mine has been fantastic , it is all I use now, except for cad work and some word crap I need to do once in while I would never bother with a pc. The droids will do anything the iphones will and more, as they have tons of apps availible . Be careful though, some apps are really junk.

I vote for Android. I don't think one is better then the other. They are both great devices/operating systems. Best thing to do is go try them both out and see which one you prefer. I feel you have more control with android. You also have choices of different styles of phones with Android as well. Apple makes great devices as well.

Good point!
That's true with every phone, regardless of OS.

I am on my second droid...started with a windows based....then the 2 droids.....when I updated my software/sync recently....I now am getting my contacts listed 2 and 3 times in my laptop outlook address book....so far I have not figured out to stop it.
I have been happy with the droids.....but when my battery gets low......weird things start happening......may push to dial a number and it has a lag time before it does anything......keep in mind I use mine for sales so it probably has 20,000 minutes on it (in 2 years) and has been dropped a hundred times.....mine is a HTC Eris through verizon......I am seriously considering going with the iphone this time but have not decided. Will be interested to see what everyone else has to say.

After seeing sacsr's post above, I thought that I'd add a little info to my statement above. My wife's first Droid was the Eris. It was a first generation phone and was very glitchy! Every time she got an update it would find new ways to screw up. She now has a Droid Pro by Motorola, and it is a much better phone. It still has it's glitches, but they ALL do. My phone is a newer HTC Droid Incredible and it is a great phone so far.
