310 clutch adjustment

when i press int eh clutch on the 310 i dont think it is engaging all the way because when i shift it grinds a little in the higher ranges. is there an adjustment?

alright, i adjusted these 2 nuts, but not too much of a difference. it only grind sometimes now.

Are the brakes adjusted right? If they aren't, sometimes that will cause grinding, as the tranny turns more readily.

no idea on the brakes but there was play in the clutch pedal until i adjusted it.

Like MH said, the brake band needs to "brake" after the pulley tension is released or the
transmission will continue to spin... you could also just wait for the transmission to stop
spinning before changing gears but that is time consuming when trying to get a job done.

its working alright now, but its not running again. i think it keeps killing spark plugs.

I recommend that you adjust according to the manual starting with the proper brake adjustment and continuing through till you get to the free play on the clutch rod. If the brakes are too tight it will prevent the clutch from traveling far enough to fully disengage.
