The Tractor is Called a Bolens Ride-a-Matic

Looks to be either a 230,231 or 232 model. If there were pictures of the other side I may be able to narrow it down further.
The 230 was made in 1959 and the 231 and 232 were made in 1960 the 7HP Kohler is the original engine that went in these

Bolens 1000- In your opinion how do these compare to the tube frames?

I guess it all depends on what you plan to do with it. If you want a nice tractor to use occasionly and take to shows I would get the Ride-a-Matic

If you plan on using the machine as a work horse, then I'd get a tubeframe as they have a bit more power, parts are easier to find and they are a bit more "user friendly"

Dont get me wrong, the Ride-a-Matics are tough machines and will get the job done, but IMO If I wanted a workhorse tractor I'd get a tubeframe

Hope that answers your question

It does thanks. I figured it would be hard to compete with the all around muscle of the tube frames. This one is out of my price range anyways right now at $800. I would prefer a nice 900 / 1000 but this one sure is pretty.

No attachments, what you see is what he's offering. Thats the problem down here you don't come across old stuff to often so everybody is looking to make a killin.

The only differences I am aware of are that the model 231 had diamond tread tires, while the model 232 had agricutural tread tires on the rear. ... Both were 6-12 size.
