i should be getting home around 5:30 eastern time with it, since my dad took the truck to work. i had to beg the guy to stay home that late so i can pick t up, i asked if he could leave it out under the porch or something but he says its never seen rain in its life. too bad the crank bearings are burned up.

Sounds like a neat find, I'm wondering if it is a 4 wheel steering unit. I know many manufacturers made rear steering assist over the years, most were LT units. Hope it isn't too hard to unbury, and that it's as cool as it sounds.

Waiting can be the hardest part, can't it :D

That definitely sounds interesting! I don't think that I've ever seen an AC that articulates. We'll be waiting anxiously for some pics!

also it was an LT unit, but i think it had a 3 lug rear axle. im used to seeing 5 or 6, not many have 3 or 6, but 5 is very common on GT's.

They seem to be pretty well built machines, glad you got it home safe and sound.

BTW, I moved your post over into this thread. Was looking for pictures and thought more people would find the post here.

Looks like a really nice Mower. Did you say it had engine problems? It's a shame, but you probably can find a donor pretty easy. Lots of Mowers from that era used similar engines.

It does have some articulation, doesn't it. Very neat.

the guy said he ran it low on oil and the crank bearing burned up. its free right now but he said once it goes under load give it 5 minutes and it just stops. they have almost a sideways articulation to them, its pretty cool. when i get the 310 going im gonna have my dad tow the homesteader around so i can feel what its like.
