This is a thermostart system usually found on Perkins and Ford diesels. Definitely a worthwhile upgrade if your going to run the machine in the winter. the thermostart ran about 20$ and about 8$ in brass T and hose barbs. i had the relay and wiring in stock.
Watch out winter!
Ill add some pictures later.

A retired army friend of mine spent his career in tanks. He tells me that in the old days when it was really cold they used to light a small fire under the engine to warm it up before attempting to start them. Your solution is much more practical for a GT.

Can you explain how it works ? Al
Al, Think of it as a cigarette lighter. the element heats up when electricity is applied to it. the heat then opens a valve which allows diesel fuel drip onto the element producing a small flame. The heat and vapors produced by the thermostart helps the engine start.
