Threw a rod on my Onan. Looks to be more expensive and time consuming to repair than I can handle right now. Wondering if something else can be used without a lot of permanent changes in case I want to go back to the Onan sometime. Any help or Ideas appreciated.

I replaced the 16 HP Onan engine in mine with a 20 HP Onan twin cylinder back in the late 80's. The footprint was not the same, and had to modify the mounting arrangement. Also, the new engine was just enough larger that I really had to hack up the hood. Otherwise, the pulley fit fine (you have to make sure that the crankshaft output is the right size), and it works great.

I bought mine with a thrown rod. The insides were clean so I just purchased used piistons and rods.
It worked for a little while but it is time to get everything working right. I did a good job on the grill. It was torn off at the bottom.
