Doug - I had to go to Lansing Mich for serial number DN 27468 with that switch in it . The tractor is in fair shape . Since all E 15 's built by June 24 of 1970 were alike  , this  tractor deserves preservation .  Serial number  FN 29 708 is very close to the actual change over .   Either Geo is really distracted or I pulled one over on him  . We will see.

Fn 29 708  single hole  for switch .   The local dealer here did not get his franchise until late 70 or early 71 by his recollection . So this tractor floated around a little before assigned to dealer for sale . Either test model or just demo for training .  Woo hoo !!

After the first years' production , loctiting the hubs to the axles was recommended because of hub s being displaced . The weight of the batts gave the legendary pulling capacity and torque including ability to shift the hubs . Only trouble with that option was - it takes 500 degrees of heat to loosen the loctite for removal of hubs .

I have two of the first years units that were not loctited - they have displaced hubs . While waiting for word about an official version of history my shovel turned up a few things on its own .

A lot of good info that only the guys that did it could tell is on its way . All good things in due time.
