I have a 54 blade that fits a 318 that was given to me. Need to trade/modify. Any posts related to modifying to fit?

Welcome to the forum. Do you have the hitch as well? There is a company that makes an adapter for the older 54 blades to fit the 430 etc. Heres the link. They call it a frame squeezer.ALZWELDING.com - Quality First

Some pictures would be a help as there are a number of different hitch configurations.

Thanks for the link! I do have the hitch. It is the standard one that came with the 318. The frame squeezer looks like the answer!
I appreciate the help. If i get time I will take some pictures and post.

You're welcome. Talk to those guys before you order anything. The different hitches and blades can get confusing. It looks like a nicely built adapter and the price seems fair.

I widened a 318 blade to fit my 420 by cutting the end plates off the mount & adding 1" to each side!

Al Z's frame stretcher does work, but you will need longer hoses & it's not easy to get the hoses connected. I used one one season, before I figured out what I needed to do to modify the one I had. ~~ grnspot

Crap, I was going to put my 318 blade on my 400 today, but sounds like I might be in the same boat. I might lean toward the adapter since I may sell the blade one day or switch between tractors. Good information to know, thanks.
