I think Daniels wheel he posted is a bit smaller. Just thinking that would help in not going too deep.
Let us know how it works on the 10". Some pics of the brackets for it would be good, too

My gauge wheel is likely around 8"+, but I'll measure when I think of it while outside.

Since your hitch is red, I'd paint the original white parts flint metalic grey, and paint the original black parts, gloss black. If you want to throw in a third color, paint the coulter arm Massey red, along with the bottom plow runner.

Thanks for all the ideas guys.
I've been plugging away at it.
I decided on red frame, and MF Flint metallic grey for the working parts, and hardware.
Today, I got the last of it out of the bubble bath, preped, and primed it.

I like the red frame with black plow parts. The red isn't too much.

Will, color scheme sounds great, can't wait to see it behind the Massey.

i just went thru a bit of a learning curve when i restored a Brinly 10" plow (PP-510) and a Brinly cultivator (CC-500).
i listened to peoples advice and took plenty of "BEFORE" pics, itemized nuts & bolts etc. so i could re-assembly them properly.
i had both sandblasted and primed; i painted both back to the original Brinly colour scheme and they look great (behind a JD 200 series).
at this point, i haven't used either but they will be workers and NOT just for display.

so ... they came apart very easily. putting them back together - well, not so easy. The parts of the plow are heavy, making it very awkward to put together by myself withhout scratching the paint. Getting things to line up just right is a big PIA so develop patience. I truly believe i have invented a few NEW 4-lettered words!

no matter what colours you pick, EXPECT the plow will require touchups.

my vote ... even tho i'm a purist, is to paint the plow red & grey. please post pics when you're done.

ps - read Lauber1's post in the painting implements thread ... outstanding!

I spent some time over the last while, in between this and that, and got
things painted, and then reassembled this evening.
I think, I'll hang it on the MF16 on Monday to see how it fits.

Wow, that's a nice wood shop you have there! Oh and the plow is just plain beautiful! But I prefer blue to the red LOL , just kidding , I would love to bury that in the dirt! I need to rebuild mine ad it was not made for a gt, and my diesel twists it all up when I get hold of anything other than fluff.

Great job, Will. Looks really good. Think I would have opted for a new decal, though.
