only 2 places for fluids besides the motor. hydro & bevel gear box.

I thought besides the motor there were 3 places for oil...
hydro (dexron)
BGB (80-90W)
Transaxle (80-90W)

Hope so, Ikeep cking the reservior to make sure I'm full to the bottom of the ck valve threads. I may, next season drain the reservior again just to recleanse the that fluid that may have been mixed with the old that was still left in pump, tranny.

It is interesting that this subject came up when it did. I went out tonight to blow snow for the first time this year and my 7117 will not advance past half speed. Below that the Hydro works just fine but as you advance the hydro past the half way mark the tractor starts to slow down to a creep and won't pull itself up an incline. Filter and oil was changed within the last two years. Of course this had to happen after I installed the cab. So I guess I get to take the cab off again. Drat!

Good luck on finding the problem.

Thanks! I did come up with at least part of the answer. My Hydro shaft is leaking and it was low on oil. I may be sucking some air through the seal at higher settings if that's possible. It is better since adding oil. I didn't have type F so for now it is running on standard auto transmission oil. :(
I'm going to have to run to Napa on Monday and get a filter and some oil. That is if I get the seal out. At first glance it didn't look like a hard job.

im talking about my 7100 series machine...not a 3400 series
i believe there is a hose on the 7100 series that allows the hydro and transaxle to share fluid. but ive been wrong before.
