EWell the old P218 didn't want to start and dad threw up his hands saying " Son you figure it out"

Thanks to the manuals available here I was able to conclude the coil and trigger were good. Then the only thing left was the condensor check and voila it was indeed bad. Changed it out and the machine had spark and ran. Sometimes the smallest and least expensive is the answer. Oddly enough the condensor on the P218 isn't common at .3MFD 600VDC and may be an Onan only condensor.

On a side bar I have been looking for a replacement #79 headlight bulb and that looks to be discontinued. The closest I can find is a 4411-1 Sealed Beam Lamp. Anyone had any luck with these bulbs to know if they last or put out any light?

Thanks

Those bulbs light up very well and last well also. GE 37889 is the same bulb.
Glad you got the ignition solved.
