Took the morning to go to the local model railroad club's annual fall train show. If I'd ever get my basement set up for it I'd like to build a model railroad. Going to the show helped get me thinking/planning to work on it this winter when it gets too cold to work in the garage/shop. Anyone else have a layout??

Had one growing up. Still have the train, but the track got brittle and fell apart. It was a Santa Fe set. I had lots of fun with it and built some rudimentary bldgs, etc.

Trains.........o ya we gots trains here. I collect Marx trains and have showcases(yes really) full of them in my living room. I had a huge layout in the back of my wood shop, but took it down to move it into the house after the kids moved out. I havent gotten a chance to put it back together yet, but maybe this winter?? I also collect farm toys and construction toys, but only in 1/48. That way i have stuff to go with the trains.

I was into HO for a while cause that is what my dad had, switched to N scale and never got the layout finished mostly cause of money. Fun stuff.

Now that is something I have never done. I have built many many military dioramas, mostly WWII,but I think I might just try a tractor diorama.

Several years ago, I was able to rescue a MARX wind up train set. The track was an oval about 4 ft by 3 ft. It has the engine, coal tender, some other cars and a caboose ( I think). Gave it to my Uncle for Christmas that year. He had some MARX toys when he was little and seemed touched.

HO set in my basement I play with it from time time. Been wanting to build a bigger layout with over 500 feet of track. Wife will not give me more room for the layout.

If any of you get out to Iowa, You might want to see Trainland USA. It attracts people from all over the country. It's only 10 miles from here.

See I forgot the link. http://www.trainlandusa.com/menu.html This is one of the worlds largest working displays of working Lionels. Red Atwood started collection and setting up this layout while I was in High School.

Here are a few of my engines. I have all the track and most of the buildings for building my new HO layout. Just need the room and self motivation to build the bench work.
