Possibility of the first snow in october is coming in tomorrow, I dont think I can remember it ever snowing that early before. I really dont need or want this but I figured I would get the tractor ready for it today. So, For the first time I am using the Bolens 900 for plowing this year. I have the plow on it, wheel weights on it, and have the tires filled with fluid. Plus I hooked up my new lighting in the rear of the tractor and I also adjusted the front lights too. Im not really ready for snow yet but if it comes atleast the tractor is!!

Brad, the lights look good. They should help a lot when things get bad out. I'm glad someone will be for the white stuff. I hope you don't get too much.

Brad, the tractor looks ready to rock! Do you ever need chains? I have to have them even for the big tractor.

Well just came in from plowing, definitely did not get what they were calling for here, as a matter of fact everyone around us had more, we were the last people in our area for the snow to start to cover the grass and such, I even ran out early this morning to rays mower shop and when i left the house it was snowing but it wasnt covering anything yet, but i got not even 2 miles away and the grass and cars were covered with about an inch, after I returned home it there was snow on the roads but yet i got home to still nothing. So I thought ok no problem so i traveled southeast thinking it would be the same as home, boy was I wrong even the highways down there were covered, then i ran back up to boyertown and i went past rays again to go out to eat and i ended up needing 4x4 almost the whole way, came home about 2 hours later to it just starting to coat the grass lol, it seems like everyone but us got a lot of snow. we ended up with maybe pushing 3", but go anywhere around me including up to my aunt and uncle which are 15 mi north and they got 8" lol and have been out of electric since noon. So many people called off at the bandit truck stop where my cousin works that hes pulling a 16 hr shift tonight lol. Anyways yep I got to use the bolens to plow and brian about the chains...in the past they have marked up the driveway pretty bad so we stopped using them, and to be honest if i need chains it is usually enough snow to use the blower. I do still have the chains but never use them.

I got about 3 inches of the stuff in the yard but the walks and drive were just too warm for it to stick. I didn't have any of the tractors ready and in fact I mulched the leaves in my yard last nite so the mower decks are all still on. The walks had maybe an inch of slush so I did the old manual thing with the shovel tonite instead. If this is any indication of our winter to be I think we better be on the lookout!
