Lo/Hi short lever on right...forward for low range, rearward for high range
Main shifter, forward for 1st, next back is a neutral, then 2nd, followed by another neutral, then reverse to the rear

Here's a pic:

What engine do you have? Some were equipped with Tecumseh HH100, most were Wisconsin TRA-10D, some TR-10D. Both models Wisconsin use the same breather. I can't help you with breathers for any of these engines.

I went to the garage last night and took some pics of my son's D4-10. Being computer challenged I couldn't get them to load. I am trying again and hope that they help. The one thing I learned when I drove this tractor, unlike my Bolens, when you push in the clutch it doesn't stop.It has its own brake pedal! Live and learn.

There is an air filter assembly for a Bolens listed on ebay. I believe these were the same ones used on the Bush Hog Bolens tube frame 1050 wisconsin tr-10d air cleaner assembly | eBay
