I seen the billowing smoke too. He probably used the cheapest aftermarket rings he could find! I know one thing for sure.....some people have more money than they have sense!

Glad to see I am not the only one who thought for $6500 it shouldn't have been smoking.

i would have told rick to shove the price up his hole. 6500. i could buy like 8 or more bolens ht series and be just as content. the engine when it was ke$ha gold was horrendous.

That restoration was absolutely outrageous. And also, for $6500 I would take it back and have Rick fix the engine color too. Who else saw him just spray over the gold? you know what will happen when that engine gets it's first scuff, gold!!! I have watched the show many times and when they make a color screwup their solution is paint over it, not take it back down to bare metal again... To me, that is just shoddy workmanship. How many of you have a scratch on your restored stuff that reveals another color other than grey primer??

That Bantam was not worth that price, mabey a third, but not that much... even for sentimental value...

Absolutely, I would not take a single item of mine to him, even if his prices were reasonable. I don't want my tractor to come back with incorrect colors, even if you can't see em.

I still watch them to see stuff I haven't even heard of, but I still think that Rick is crazy with what he charges sometimes.
