Great job Brian! Amazing how these "little projects" can snowball, isn't it? I have got to where I double my time estimates and triple the estimated price to get the project done.

If you were not so far away, I'd say lets get on our "new" tractors and take a victory lap around the yard - but you have to wait for me to "finish" my 316K - just a few more things to complete.......!

I know what you mean. I put a lot of time into "Jed" as my wife calls the 314. I did learn a lot in the process and enjoyed it for the most part. I kept discovering broken and worn out stuff and I just kept at it with encouragement from the folks here. I wish you good luck on your refit of the 316K. These tractors are well worth the time and money that it takes to bring them back.

Mark, I just don't have the room or the time right now. These things are rare up here. I have only seen one other older 300 series for sale in the last 6 months. Same for 318's, only seen 1 all year. It seems in some areas of the US these tractors are plentiful.

Thanks Gary. Do you still have your 318/400 tractors? They look great in your avatar photo.

Good luck on the 140. They are my fav of the older JD's. I've never seen one here ever. I may have to make a trip south to get one someday.

Brian, That's a sweet looking 314. I have one of mine torn down now with plans for an engine swap. I also have a set of dual brake pedals and linkage as well as a H2 hydraulic valve from a 317 that i intend to install on the 314. My plans are to add the second set of hydraulics to the rear for a 3 point hitch. I haven't had a lot of luck with finding the lines for the rear hydraulics. I did purchase a set of rubber lines from eBay a while back but they ended up having the wrong couplings, even though they were advertised to be for 314/317 tractors.

Nice looking 314! :thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

I need to give my 314 a paint job this winter. Just got it in July, it doesn't need much more than new paint. ~~ grnspot

Looks GREAT, Brian. Can't wait for mine, to look that nice. I like the stance. Are those rims stock and if not, what are they off of?
