I had the opportunity to drive one of these. They are nice machines.
8 speeds (4 high range, 4 low) and that one should have a 14 horsepower Kohler engine.
The WH guru's should be along shortly. Oh, and for what attachments are available... almost everything.

They had mowers, grass vacs, snow plows, moldboard plows, tillers, discs, loaders, etc. Anything that went on a sleve hitch would work on these. I'm sure i missed some, but they are capable machines, and worth owning IMHO.

IDT they had optional hydraulics, but other than that, it would have been a little smaller, but still "Competition" for your 210 when people were looking to buy a new unit...

Is this thing so odd that no one else has one or is it that bad that no one wants to comment ? Remember good or bad I want to hear it.

THANKS DON.

The 414-8 was built 1986-1989
1986 used K-Series engines with battery ignition
1986-1987 used a 3 amp unregulated dual circuit charging system
1987-1989 used Magnum engines with magneto ignition
1988-1989 used a 15 amp charging system
I think they all used the 110995 Uni-Drive transmission which was the strongest they ever built with 1-1/8" axles and 8 one-piece pinion gears.

I have a 414-8. I haven't had a lot of opportunity to work it hard, but it's a strong runner and I plan on plowing or blowing snow with it this winter. Itbsounds like Gary has given you all the stats for it. Personally, I really like mine. It's a ruggedly built unit and the Kohler engines are IMO some of the best. I hope that this helps you make your decision

Hey Bob,,, I heard that you are running out of stalls in your barn so I had better just keep this one. Besides , the one you were to send south Ginny claimed so I don`t want to lose this one by sending it north.

THANKS DON.

P.S. Some day when I get smart enough i`ll post pix.

Yeah, but you over paid for it. LOL

(For those of you who don't know, Caseguy stole this one. I'd say for a song, but I've heard him sing...)

I have a '88 414-8 with a 48" SD mower and a 42" dozer (snow/gravel) blade.

Great machine, many attachments, will do anything you want it to do!

Received my first WH in the early 70's, 8hp, plowed earth with it and everything else too!

Enjoy the machine, IMHO WH's are the best garden tractors that were ever produced.

Pic (left image) is before I changed the seat, now a high back (right image) from Tractor Supply, Quakertown, PA. '85 416-8 on the left, 48" blade. '88 414-8 Kohler Magnum on the right with a 42" blade, both ready for winter.
