Kenny, I had the same tractor, and my engine was in the other way! Had a pulley bolted to the flywheel that ran the transmission and a clutch out front that ran everything else? Crazy .. that vari drive turns things around?

Lots of Ugly here guys. Keep em coming. I've got nothing right now to contribute. My MF8 would have been a contenda but has been in the restoration state for a while now.

Are we allowed to try and make them uglier, as we go along here, if we think it's nesc?

Reason I ask, is that Kenny's is about as butt ugly as it can get, but I'm not willing to roll over just yet.

I parked mine where the barn swallows frequent, hoping they'd drop big loads on it. But they went to crap on my Massey instead! Dang birds!:bigrofl:

We should vote for a group of a dozen finalists and have them do a demolition derby for the title.

It's the red paint Daniel. Attracts them like crazy. You should try green instead!

I got some rough looking JDs, if I can get 1 of them running and move it 10ft under it's own power, I'm going to nominate it.

HPIM1377.jpg I would like to nominate my 1970 Bolens 1053 I got it back in November last year. I had wanted a garden tractor for a long time. I was looking for a wheel horse or a john deere. One of my family members sent me an email with a 1970 bolens 1053 it was the cheapest garden tractor I had seen so I took my chance wile I could. It ran after a little work but you couldnt shift it in gear because the clutch was sticking so we had to take apart the whole drive train and got the clutch off of it. we hit it on the work bench and the clutch finally separated like it should. another problems was it wouldn't charge the battery. We looked at it for hours and hours. we finally got the problem down to the starter generator. So we got a refurbished one and it solved that problem. It had a mower deck with it two but it needed bearings badly. I have learned a lot from fixing it up it was fun.
