It also needs to be a fully drivable runner too. If it isn't running & driving, then it's not a valid entry. Heck, I have tons of junk that looks like that Massey.

I did have it running (poorly) and not out of gear when it started. I know the tranny works cause it tried to run over Ryans foot. I haven't actually driven it, but it does run and move. As for going a full 10 feet, I haven't put it to that test yet. :D

As for fresh pictures, I have it tarped for winter. I can untarp it if necessary... But it won't be until Sunday at the earliest.

Let's do this, if I can squeeze an hour out of my Sunday, I can get it out of the lineup and put a battery in it. If I can get it to run and move, I will let everyone know, otherwise... It may have to wait until next years Ugly contest.

If all goes well today, I'll add Ol' Ugly to the mix. Need to get a battery in it, put the belt back on, and take it for a spin. Haven't tried it since I put the big meats (26 X 12) on the back.

Got it running! Here's a couple shots of the oil pressure gauge.
Image001.jpg Posted Image
First shops 0 oil pressure, second shows 25+/- lbs. Took it to the corner and back, so it passed the 10' test. My next post will be my nomination thread.

I would like to nominate my Sears GTV/16 for this month. This is the first GT I got back about 1989. It was given to me by a friend. The motor was blown and had been removed. I happened to have an Onan B43 that had also been given to me, so I made a new motor mount and installed it. The tractor came with a the 917.252312 sleeve hitch and a 917.252390 grader blade.
I have used this tractor for moving lots of dirt and to pull my large engine hoist when pulling motors. Some day, I hope to put some new paint on her, but as of now this is what she looks like. This is one tough old tractor and I hope to change her name from Ol' Ugly to something more fitting.

My thanks to ducky for the back tires, as the originals had major sidewall problems. Those 26 X12's look real good on her.

That's why I entered her. She's ugly, but she gets the job done. I have missed working with this old gal.

It almost looks like it caught fire and flames came out of the openings in the hood.
Very nice GT.

Will's looks like a transformer. I'm waiting for the snow to see how it works. Rather a neat idea, though. Hope it works okay, Will.

Similar to that old "Kennel ration" jingle, but with a slight variation... "My tractor's uglier than yours is, my tractor's uglier than yours...":bigrofl:
  • Texas Deere and Horse and KennyP have said thanks
