Not sure if this is the right place but thought I would stop in and say hello.

My "working project" is a 1982 John Deere 116. I've had it for the past 15 years and it's still going strong. It mows 2.5 acres weekly during the summer months and other than a transaxle replacement a few years back, maintenance has only been belts, filters, oil, ect.

A week ago, I mounted a new seat (and shock/coil-over set up) steering wheel and added 5" to the steering shaft. With the new seat, the steering wheel was nearly at my knees (I'm 6'5"tall) so a slight "extension" was needed. :D

Anywho...glad I found this fourm.

Hey...thanks guys. GREAT welcome. I'm happy I've found this site as well. Spent a few days searching the web, looking for a part or two and ran accross the GTtalkfourm. GREAT site for those of us who just can't leave "well enough" alone. There was a mention of photos, well here goes. First attempt may be a MAJOR fail, but none the less:

As she sits:

A little rough around the edges, but I have a plan ! :beerchug:
It all started with a new place to sit:

And somewhere to steer the 'ol Girl:

Keep in mind this may take a while as I have WAY TOO MANY "projects" that need my attention, but rest assured, it will get done. :blush2:

Welcome, dave8338! Cool mods to make the tractor work better for you. I like the seat set-up. That's pretty neat. Where did you get the coil-over from? I'm sure others will want to know.
