Just take a look at what direction the fins on the flywheel are pointing and you will be able to figure out rotation......

the fins would want the air to blow "into" the motor correct?

If it turns the wrong direction, mount it the other way...

If your hydro shaft hooks to the flywheel, then the hydro will have to be driven from the pulley end (front) of the diesel engine to turn the hydro in the right rotation.

I believe all air cooled engines turn CW,if you view them from the flywheel end .
And most,if not all liquid cooled engines turn the opposite direction,if viewed from the flywheel end.

They both turn the same way looking at them from the front, because the flywheel on the air cooled is the front and the flywheel is the backside on the water cooled

No, flywheel to the front of the tractor.
