Found me a good looking (under the 2" of machine shed dust) Cub 109 today. It's pretty plain Jane without any extras but the tin is in great shape. I can't wait to get her running and start the journey to its glory days. Pictures will (hopefully) come soon.

Here's a couple of pics. I have since washed it off, shined up the points, and have a new carb kit on my desk. It fired and ran a little but flooded. Looks like some good potential here!

Nice score on the wide frame, I'd love to have a 149/169

Got her going today and drove around the yard a bit, mowed some lawn, made the neighbor jealous. Then while I was driving it in the garage a tie rod end popped off. Thankfully I was going slow.

That thing is in terrific shape. Awesome barn find. I want a 169 really bad. Did Cub make a 16 horse gear drive in old narrow frame or wide frame?

That's probably a question for a more die-hard Cub guy or an experienced puller. I would think you could tuck a 16 into a 108 or 128 frame but I couldn't tell you for sure.

Nice 109, you have there! Have fun with it.

IH made the 582, it's a gear drive with a 16 hp Briggs and Stratton engine. They never made a narrow frame with a 16 hp engine.

You can also put a 16 hp Kohler, in a 109 or 128 frame, they are all the same.
