To cookiemonster: An hvlp will work with a high build primer it just needs a large tip size. Guys are spraying Imron with hvlps and that's some thick paint. I spray tractors etc. With a sata klc--rp 1.6 tip. It's as transfer efficient as an hvlp. I have a klc- b with a 1.8 I primed with for years. It's hvlp and will flat put material out. I'd buy a sata clone with a 1.8 to prime pitted metals.

Interesting. The home depot guns I got only came with one tip a piece. Will have to look on there somewhere to see what tips I got.

I got another email yesterday from Harbor freight with these spray guns on sale again for $9.99 just in case someone did not get them the on the last sale.......
