Al, it's a Hobart 140 Handler. I had this set on 3 and about 30 for speed. Once I strike the arc, I can't tell where the parts are. Usually stop after just a bit to see where I'm going. If I turn the setting on the hood to a lighter setting, my eyes burn after welding for a while. I'll see about taking it apart and see if there is a 'foggyness/haze' to the cover lens. That may be the whole issue.

Then you'll go from very good to great welds once you get that lens problem figured out . Keep us posted , Al

I have to go get some argon soon, will take the helmet with me to see what they have. Maybe I can find something I don't have to wear glasses with.
Thanks for the feedback, guys. Very helpful info.

Wow Kenny! That looks great. Have you picked your first project for when you take up occupancy?

Not yet. Got too much stuff laying about the yard and stuffed in the shed. Got to get that in some type of order before I can start building/fixing something. But I'm slowly getting closer to doing some work under there. Just hope the snow doesn't fly first.

Maybe this will get to be the first project. Ol' Ugly snuck up on to the floor, looking for some attention. If I get her to 'running' condition, I can enter her in the competition this month. Needs a battery, belt put back on, and an oil change.

Image010.jpg Had to clear the yard and mow today. Thought I would see how things fit under the new roof. I can get all 5 of the running tractors under with a little room to spare. WooHoo!
